Hadara Bar-Nadav, a former contributor and guest editor for Crazyhorse, received the Saturnalia Book Prize for her collection of poetry Lullaby (with Exit Sign), and it will be published in March 2013. Her second book The Frame Called Ruin will be released from New Issues Poetry & Prose in Fall 2012.

Poet Kerri Webster won a 2011 Whiting Writers’ Award  of $50,000. Her poem “If We Are Pretty Ghosts. Hammered In” won Crazyhorse’s 2006 Lynda Hull Memorial Poetry Prize and was published in Crazyhorse Number 70, Fall 2006. She was the recipient of the 2008 Crazyhorse Emerging Writer Prize.

Poet Tomas Transtromer won the 2011 Nobel Prize for Literature. His poem “November in the Former DDR” appears in the Crazyhorse 50th Anniversary Issue.

Three poems from Crazyhorse Number 80 were featured on Verse Daily: Carolina Ebeid’s“Epithalamium”; Danniel Schoonebeek’s “Geneology (rest)”; Steven Cramer’s poem from “Clangings.”

Elizabeth Lindsey Rogers’s first book of poems, a finalist for the Miller Williams Arkansas Poetry Prize, will be published in 2013 by the University of Arkansas Press. Her poems appeared inCrazyhorse Number 81.

Poetry Daily featured Christopher Howell’s poem “Tiny Bees Clung to Us,” from Crazyhorse 79, on July 13, 2011.

Hugh Sheehy won the Flannery O’Connor Short Fiction Award for his collection, The Invisibles. It includes the story “Variations on a Theme,” which was first published in Crazyhorse 79.

Marjorie Celona’s story “All Galaxies Moving,” from Crazyhorse 78, was listed as Notable Nonrequired Reading in the 2011 Best American Nonrequired Reading.

Rebecca Makkai read her short story “The November Story” on the NPR radio program This American Life. The story was first published in Crazyhorse 78.

Akshay Ahuja’s story “The Gates,” from Crazyhorse 77, was selected as a Distinguished Story in The Best American Short Stories 2011.

Joelle Fraser’s essay “Inspiration Point,” from Crazyhorse Number 75, was recognized as a Notable Essay in The Best American Essays 2010.

Maria Hummel’s poem “Carousel, Ten Days after His Third Transfusion,” from Number 78, was selected for a Dorothy Sargent Rosenberg prize.

Leslee Becker’s story “The Little Gentleman,” from Number 75, was selected as a Distinguished Story in The Best American Short Stories 2010.

Amelia Kahaney’s story “The Temp,” from Crazyhorse 73, was reprinted in The Best American Nonrequired Reading 2009.

Karen Brown’s story “Galatea,” from Crazyhorse Number 72, was reprinted in The Best American Short Stories 2008 (and the story was selected by Antonya Nelson as winner of the 2007 Crazyhorse Fiction Prize).

Ciaran Berry’s poem “Electrocuting an Elephant,” from Crazyhorse Number 71, was reprinted inThe Best American Poetry 2008.

Robert Creeley’s poem “Valentine for You,” from Crazyhorse Number 69, was reprinted in The Best American Poetry 2007.

Marvin Bell’s poem “The Method,” from Crazyhorse Number 70, was reprinted in The Best American Poetry 2007, as well as included in The Pushcart Prize – Best of the Small Presses 2007

Theodore Worozbyt’s poem “An Experiment” from Crazyhorse Number 68, was reprinted in The Best American Poetry 2007.

James Tate’s poem “The Loser,” from Crazyhorse Number 66, was reprinted in The Best American Poetry 2006.

John Ashbery’s poem “In Dearest, Deepest Winter,” from Crazyhorse Number 64, was reprinted inThe Best American Poetry 2005.

Richard Jackson’s poem “Cain’s Legacy,” from Crazyhorse Number 62, was reprinted in The Pushcart Prize – Best of the Small Presses 2004

Dinty W. Moore’s essay “Son of Mr. Green Jeans,” from Crazyhorse Number 63, was reprinted in the January 2004 Harper’s Magazine.
